Ron & Kate Le Blanc, owners of Le Blanc Photography, Green Screen Event Photographers

They opened their first studio in February 1992. For most of that time they have been photographing social, religious, and corporate events. Their clients consist of government agencies, religious and political groups, and non-profit organizations such as Easterseals and Special Olympics.

Since the early 1990′s, they have utilizing virtual backgrounds with their event photography. In those early days, the virtual backgrounds were projected onto a special screen behind your model. Special projectors and glass “splitters” were mounted onto the tripod along with the camera. This equipment was very heavy and bulky. Then chroma key (green screen) technology hit the scene. Ron studied this new technology. They use green screen technology for most of the events they photograph.

Ron has gone on to be an expert in the technology of green screen photography. he has taught classes to other professional photographers in the use of green screen technology for events, edited a book in green screen photography for a Washington author, and has beta tested software for a green screen software maker.

Ron and Kate both serve on the Board of Directors for the Portland Metropolitan Photographers Association. Kate as the Association Secretary; Ron as the Director of Bylaws and Legal Ethics. Ron is also a member of Professional Photographers of America, and is working toward his Master Photographer Degree and his Fellowship Designation.

Ron was awarded the 2011 PMPA Presidents Award for his service to the community and to PMPA. His community service included volunteering his photography to Easterseals of Oregon and the City of West Linn, and serving as the Chairman of the 2011 West Linn Arts Festival.
